"On the ninth floor of a multi-storey car park, a lonely cotton cloud floats above a parking area. It appears delicate and out of place in this concrete hall noisy with engines. Nature? What is she doing here? Behind the cloud, past a folding ladder - one sees the image of the innocent bullfinch - a classic symbol of freedom among all the freedom symbols made of sheet metal."

On the top balcony of a high-rise building, in the middle of Nishiharu/Nagoya, I place six binoculars on a table. Through these the exhibition visitor can let his gaze wander, over the densely built, wide area of the city away to the mountains, which Nagoya almost encircle. Both the urban and the natural landscape in the background form the backdrop, the stage for my performance. By selecting the location, I define the field of vision within which the viewer can discover me. Equipped with binoculars, I position myself on the roof of one of the highest buildings in the area and look exclusively in the direction of the viewer. Motionless and isolated, I stand in an unusual place and become an exhibition object, while the viewer, in his search for it, without having noticed it beforehand, becomes an exhibition object himself.

A stack of wood built on the walls of public buildings in the city. The positioning of the object adapts in size and orientation to the respective local conditions. The title "Schlichtung" is based on the old Central German verb "slihten", which means "level, smooth, settle disputes, rightly direct".

At a selected, usually busy place I sit in a 1-man cabin to observe everyday life. I'm only interested in observing what's going on in public space; I don't make any notes. I react to the reactions of passers-by by explaining that I observe everyday life. If the cabin is not occupied, it remains closed with the sign "Come back soon".

"A webcam has been installed at the Kurstrand in Eckernförde, whose lens is focused on a work of art that was erected here on the initiative of the NEMO Gallery... The camera is located on the gable wall of the building in which the NEMO Gallery is located on the lake side. It faces east and has a double lens.
In the wide angle you can see the promenade in the foreground, behind it the beach and the Baltic Sea to the horizon. The telephoto lens focuses on Carsten Höller's work "Ein Quadratmeter Blau" ("One square meter of blue")." Galerie NEMO / http://nemo.kulturimnetz.de
The webcam delivers a new picture every full hour from 5.00 am to 10.00 pm. The pictures are visible online 24 hours a day and are dated with the respective time / date. -
