Hinterstübchen / squat # 01 Hinterstübchen, 2008 in collaboration with Patricia Lambertus, temporary installation / Künstlerhaus Bremen, scaffolding, paper, prints, windows, wallpaper / wall 7m wide x 3m high
The work "Hinterstübchen" is a spatial installation, which was shown on the occasion of the "Tage der offenen Tür" in the Künstlerhaus Bremen from 20.09. to 21.09.08 in the studio of Patricia Lambertus. For this purpose we pulled an artificial rock wall through the entire length of the studio. Between the room wall and the rock wall there is only little space for the viewer. If he follows the length of the room, he discovers an old wooden window embedded in the "rock", which opens the view into a shaft behind it. Patricia Lambertus has designed this shaft like a collage with wallpaper from various eras.

Hz # 01 Hz, 2009 installation / 6. Bremer Kunstfrühling SPRING! , colour prints, cardboard boxes, candles , about 7m wide
"Hz" is a location-based work. Behind a steel fence, the former main power distribution and fuse boxes of the now decommissioned plant are located in the rail halls of the freight station. This separate area served us as an installation area:
The work can only be seen outside the fence - the exhibition visitor is "locked out" by a rope. Inside the area there are several burning candles on an already existing steel construction. The special formation of the entire complex served us in two senses of the word as a reason for an ensemble of pictures. We have mounted collages of colour prints on 15 power boxes; the five visible fuse boxes are left out. The collages borrow stylistic elements from the formal structure of medieval altarpieces: e.g. the view into rooms or from the window into the wide landscape, as well as architectural elements and draperies. However, where figures and symbolism play the central role in altarpieces, our pictures are almost empty. They look like abandoned stage spaces.

Ansichten # 01, 2007, video (3d animation, 3'12") / still # 01, postcard edition
The video work "Ansichten" ("Views") is an animated camera ride over postcards with mountain motifs. Through editing we have placed different mountain landscapes in and behind each other, which you can't see anywhere else, e.g. the Matterhorn in a Norwegian fjord. Only in the course of the camera movement the viewer notices by means of the strange edges that he is in a postcard landscape. This illusory world of the picture pages changes bit by bit. The journey ends in a landscape of paper.

Stationen # 01, 2007, concept work / photo series / Norway, 12 postcards, 12 photos, each 10cm x 15cm, texts
Our route through Norway is based on a collection of Norwegian postcards with mountain landscape motifs from the 60s and 70s, which we bought at the Bremen flea market and used for the film "Ansichten" (views), which we made before our trip. In contrast to the previous virtual journey in the film, the photo series "Stations" documents the "real" search for the motifs. The result of the undertaking to find this idyll true to picture is the realization that each view is always only possibility, depending on various factors and not least from the point of view of the viewer. Postcards are not simply photographs; on them landscape is always more or less successfully staged as "idyll", as "untouched paradise". Behind the scenes, nature and culture are by no means opposites. -

pimp the mountains # 05 Bergwanderung, 2007 slide show / photo series / Bild # 02, performance "Wandern mit den falschen Bergen" / temporary installations, Norway, slide projector (carousel / 80 slides), pedestal
The work "Bergwanderung" is a slide show in which "travel pictures" of a special kind are shown: With "false" mountains as luggage on our backs, we roam through the Norwegian landscape, place it in selected places and create new images of nature through the fusion of both elements.

Vermessung # 01, 2008, installation (photos of performances, Norway) / Bremen, table, lamp, chair, binocular, 50 mini photos, Petri dish, tweezers, magnifying glass
"In the work "Surveying", the focus is on the empirical and microstructurally oriented mode of operation of the scientific researcher: a binocular is placed on a table with the help of which 50 different tiny photo prints can be viewed. Here, however, a reversal takes place: on photographic "microchips" that can be seen through the binocular, the scientists themselves become the object of investigation and the viewers become researchers.
