Due to a slight bending of the milk frother, the object moves through the room by means of the generated momentum. Several of these objects show different behaviour in their movement. They can move in packs, but can also split off from the group. A mass of these objects allows a chaos-like composition, the unity of which is their movement.
"Bestimmte Gesten" ("Certain gestures") is a performative installation that is limited in time, but it can only be appreciated and must be left to the mechanics and battery. -

By means of Nitinol springs, a memory metal, the lower area is pulled inwards at intervals and expanded again. The movement is so small that the human eye can hardly perceive it. -

Text from Elke Bippus
Pikto_gramme
At first glance, Ina Raschke's fine drawings are superficially reminiscent of Asian depictions of nature, as they are primarily transported by the product design of artificial and stylized decorative everyday objects. However, they are also based on the objectifying taxonomic illustrations known from the tradition of scientific atlases. In her formal language, the artist accordingly combines elements that stand for an artificial and natural representation of nature.
Through the amalgamation of historical, socio-cultural and intercultural patterns of representation, the drawings reflect the mostly unconscious pictorial imprints of our ideas and our cognitive faculty of the world. The accentuation of the drawing and the drawing itself interrupts a mere recognition of seeing. Thus, for example, the representation - bud and stem - which in its reducedness has almost coagulated into a pictogram, refers to the representation itself despite its high recognition value "Ägelbe Blume" (Yellow Flower). It is not a matter of quickly sketched or stencilled reproductions, rather the drawings appear clumsy or - to put it positively - highly concentrated. It seems to be primarily about drawing lines, drawing surfaces, the compositional distribution of elements on the sheet. The drawing lays itself over its informative, symbolic value and makes itself a theme. Instead of an object-related recognizing seeing, a surface-related seeing is provoked, which reads the writing of the picture and thus our pictorial imprints. -

A cooperation between the Gerhard Marcks Haus and local culture.
Trees belong to the fixed symbolic vocabulary of mankind. Root, trunk and crown play an important role in the myths of many cultures. The installation works with this potential in terms of content and connects two tree trunks in the exhibition in such a way that the roots each become the crown of the opposite root. The result is a simultaneously absurd and poetic image of mutual rootedness that can be interpreted symbolically. -

The plot and its order
location: Galan, France
time: 9.00 – 10.00 am
Duration: 14 days for 1 hour each
In the summer of 2006, in France, for more than 14 days a day, I went for an hour to one and the same apple tree to show it the picture of a coconut.Material:The work comprises a video recording (incl. audio) of one day with a duration of 1:02:06 in which I go to the apple tree and show it the picture of a coconut, furthermore it comprises 14 texts which describe my view of the situation and the place. The texts were opposite the video projection, which could be seen on the middle inner wall of a three-sided wall construction.
Structure from January 2007:
For the representation of the whole work I built a three-sided room, which is 2,50m high and 2,00m wide on each side. On the inside of the middle wall the video is projected. The inner walls are black, so that the viewer's gaze is focused on the essentials, while the outer walls are plain white. The texts are hung on a wall of the exhibition space behind the built projection screen, so that the viewer can move from both sides to the projection and finally dedicate himself to the texts or vice versa, which are mounted in the format 20 cm x 21 cm on cork, so that they are not directly on the wall. The sound of the video reproduces the sounds of the recording location. -
